Eating Out

Cornwall has established a reputation for fabulous food in recent years.  Some of the very best restaurants now thrive here, alongside an array of affordable alternatives.  Here are some favourites:

Right here in Charlestown we have some great places to eat.  Charlie's Cafe and The Boathouse are a short 5 minute stroll down the road from The Waterwheel Apartment and are the places to go for really good coffee and indulge in some delicious cakes!  The Pier House, Wreckers, The Longstore and Rebellion are Charlestown's main restaurants.  Pub food is available at The Rashleigh and The Harbourside.  There are also a number of pop-up eateries located on the inner harbour beside the boats.

Sam's on the Beach is a cafe with a good ambience and uses quality locally sourced produce.  It is uniquely set in an old RNLI Lifeboat station right on the beach overlooking Polkerris harbour and right out over St Austell Bay.  It is a perfect place for a memorable evening out.  Booking is recommended www.samscornwall.co.uk

A beautiful evening on Polkerris Beach

There are a number of pop-up eating venues on Carlyon Bay Beach.  Cheap parking and plenty of space for the children to run around and a great atmosphere!

Padstow is the home of famous TV chef Rick Stein.  He has four restaurants in the town but make sure you book in advance if you wish to dine in his most famous, The Seafood Restaurant.  Rick Stein's Fish and Chips are a delicious treat at the end of the day if you fancy sitting out by the harbour.  (His latest venture is also a Fish and Chip cafe in Falmouth).
